Lower castle, treasure of our history!
We have the advantage of offering you, exclusively at Cardis Sotheby's, a unique dossier which is one of the most important monuments of Vaudois heritage, the Château de Mex!
Probably erected during the 15th century, this place steeped in history is a cultural asset of national importance which has undergone transformations on various occasions during its history. The Château de Mex d'en Bas took its current name from the 16th century when Pierre De Charrière acquired the estate which had previously belonged to different owners and which would remain the property of the family for hundreds of years.
These magnificent buildings stood the test of time after nearly disappearing during the highway construction project. The domain of the Château d'en bas was saved thanks to its airstrip. Of course, the airstrip no longer exists and it was permanently closed in the 1970s.
Thus, for this area to continue for hundreds of years, a restoration, transformation and renovation project has been studied for ten years and a building permit has been issued to date. To achieve this, the base plot has now been incorporated into condominium ownership. The objects we offer for sale are Le Château and L'Orangerie.
The Château and the Orangerie are already being restored and are in mixed use. It is then possible to create a private or public dwelling such as a reception area, guest rooms, a restaurant or even apartments.
We are at your disposal to answer any questions you may have and invite you to make an appointment so that we can provide you with more information on this magnificent project!
