Superb stud farm at Laguna del Sauce
Located just a few minutes from Laguna del Sauce and Solanas beach, one of the most beautiful in Uruguay, where the sun sets over the sea. It offers remarkable views of the landscape, including the emblematic Capilla de la Asunción, and covers an area of 7.5 hectares, stretching from the top of the Sierra to the road.
The beauty and character of the property offer a space for peace and creativity. A place to dream and make your dreams come true in a tranquil environment, just minutes from the hustle and bustle and cultural life.
The current owners have successfully bred magnificent Arabian horses.
The main house, designed by renowned architect Diego Vecino and built in 2007, covers 540 m2. It features a style reminiscent of traditional Mexican town buildings and ancient Tuscan country houses, with the use of stone. In 2015, architect Rodolfo Asconeguy designed an extension in the same style. The construction is in solid stone and brick, with a tiled roof, stone-tiled floors, thermal double-glazed windows, underfloor heating and air conditioning in 5 of the 6 bedrooms.
The house is divided into four zones:
1) OWNER ZONE: with a spacious bedroom, dressing room and doors opening onto the north and east terraces. It includes an office with a kitchenette. The bathroom has an outdoor patio. On the second floor, a bedroom with en-suite bathroom, accessed by an external staircase, is currently used as a gym.
2) FAMILY SPACE: Spread over two floors. The upper floor has a superb master bedroom with stunning views, dressing room, Jacuzzi and private terrace. On the lower level, there's another bedroom with direct access to the pool. Two further bedrooms, with views to the east, share a bathroom, and the air-conditioning in the hallway serves them both. All bedrooms have fitted closets.
3) COMMON AND LIVING SPACE: connects all the spaces. Particularly high gabled ceiling with exposed beams, TV area, meeting and entertainment space, toilet. Stone-clad walls. Beautiful fireplace with hot-air distribution system. A "sculpture and prize walk" behind the fireplace connects the living area to the owners' area.
Sliding doors connect the living area to the east terrace and pool, as well as to the west terrace and barbecue area.
4)SERVICE AREA: Large, well-equipped kitchen with breakfast area and service quarters with bathroom. Parking for two cars in the shade under a pergola.
SEPARATE SERVICE AREA: approx. 150 m below the main house is the service area, approx. 300 m2 with two staff apartments (60 and 40 m2 / 645 and 430 sqf). The lower level comprises two bedrooms, a bathroom and a living-kitchen-dining room with a wood-burning stove. The upper-floor apartment, with independent access, has an air-conditioned bedroom, as well as ample storage space and tools. A large area for machinery and work equipment separates the service apartment from the stable for 10 horses.
In addition, there is a small, substantial lake that provides water for the animals and serves as a habitat for an incredible variety of birds and fishing. The infinity pool is fed by the well that supplies water to the entire property. There is a back-up electricity generator and the house has a reliable Internet connection.
The property includes pastures and extensive areas of native vegetation (century-old coronilla, eucalyptus, palm trees). The remains of an old house near the entrance, where various objects have been found, testify to the occupation of these lands for certainly over 100 years
